The Powhatan YMCA is seeking instructors to teach Lifeguard Certification / safety courses. Classes will be taught once a month.

Assist Aquatics Directors with development and facilitation of training programs for staff and the community.


Must hold current YMCA, American Red Cross or Ellis Lifeguard certification; to include CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration (O2) if YMCA certified. If not YMCA certified, employee must obtain O2 within 30 days of hiring date. Must also hold the instructor/trainer level lifeguard certification.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
